Jubilante III

this year's jubilante concert was not as exciting as last year's.
at least for me.
haiz i still didn't get to watch the other cca groups performing.
i was dying to watch so, dance, co and choir.

i disliked the kallang theatre.
it is so small compared to last year's SCH.
the resting room we had was so damn small.
and the eighty over of us had to squeeze like sardine in the room.
when ms sia wanted to rehearse in the room, we had to stand and play with our scores on the floor.
now my left arm aches so badly cos i hadn't been playing my euphonium while standing for quite a long tme.
well, at least it was more convenient for us to visit the other cca groups.
the co and choir rooms were just next to ours.
the others were upstairs i guess.
but i still missed SCH alot.
it was so much more spacious.
besides jubilante II, it was also where our last year's syf was held.
so much memories.

when we rehearsed on stage, this was the first time the trombones and trumpets were actually sitting on the same level as us cos there weren't any higher platforms or taller chairs for them to sit.
so weird.
it was okay i guess.
then we rehearsed our fanfare.
at first, there should be the trombones, trumpets, horns and euphoniums playing for the fanfare.
the trumpets and horns had to stand on the stage while the tronbones and euphoniums stood under the stage.
then we would play the fanfare at the arrival of the vips.
but they decided that there were too many ppl and the music got messy at times.
so they reduced the number of players.
in the end, there were the trombones and trumpets playing.
then we had our long awaited dinner.
after that we gave out flowers and received flowers.
went to the entrance to wait for friends and parents.
then the concert began to start.
chatted and played with leonie and cheryl in the room while waiting for our turn.
then it was interval.
we went up to the stage and settled ourselves down on the chairs.
and we waited for quite some time.
then suddenly without any warning, the curtains slowly lifted up.
i was quite surprised cos i thought they would announce the band was about to play or sth.
but the curtains just suddenly opened when i wasn't really mentally prepared.
we played Lion King.
it turned out well i guess.
then we finished playing, stood up and the curtains descended.
so that's the end of the band performance.
then we carried our instrus and stuffs to the bus.
and made our way back to school while the concert was still going on.
then wanyi called to ask me where i was cos she got flower to giver me.
abit i was already on my way back to school la. XD
haha.
i felt damn exhausted and my feet grew so numbed, thanks to that pair of black marching shoes.
luckily my mum came and fetched me from yck mrt station.
i didn't feel really excited or nervous during this year's concert.
maybe this was our second time performing?
i had no idea..
just felt extremely tired after the performance.
slept for 12 hours and i still feel so sleepy.
anw simin, enid, jiaying and jingwen bought me these two A4 size S.H.E poster stickers from their trip to huang shan.
haha they told how they had to denying to the shop owner that the posters were not for themselves but for a friend and they had to close their eyes while chosingthe posters cos they couldn't bear to see how "ugly" they are.
hmph.

BAND CAMP 2006
8 June - 9 June
the camp which we, the sec threes dared not look forward to since sec one, had finally arrived.
and now, it's finally OVER!
yay!

we organised this camp.
everything went out pretty well i guess.
day games was okay.
me, simin and peiting were the game masters for one of game station called the "human tic tac toe".
each group was supposed to play against us.
they had to use their body to form a circle or a cross whereas the three of us only needed to use our shoes to represent a circle or a cross.
we would play five rounds of tic tac toe.
if they won, they would get a coupon from us.
if they lost, they had to surrender one coupon and do us a forfeit.
haha as more groups got by, tic tac toe got really boring so we decided to play two rounds of hai dai.
it was fun la.
but i think other game stations were more fun.
how i wished i could play too. =)
then we had chicken rice for lunch.
then band prac.
mr ong was really boring.
i almost ended up falling asleep on my euphonium. X)
then it was bathing time.
bathed at the gym toilet there.
then had pizzas for dinner.
i guess i was still feeling calm with a bit of nervousness, knowing that noms would be starting in few mins' time.
at least i could enjoy eating my pizza.
furthermore, i had heard elaine saying that i most likely would be in the first group.
grr..
then it was finally starting.
the sec threes walked into the music room with our own instrus.
the atmosphere was very tensed.
yiling announced our groupings.
indeed i was in group one with jacq and sushuen.
the situation at that time was really hard to describe.
i had very mixed feeling which made me feel like crying.
i dunno took how long when i finally managed to get my feet out of the room.
then the three of us slowly made our way to the forum with the accompany of yiling.
tried to get some last min tips from her, then our nightmares arrived.
shall not mention the whole procedure and how everything went.
it was just one word 'scary'.
when u were down there, ur mind totally went blank.
dunno how many no of eyes staring at u doing drills, commanding, answering qns and sight reading in front of them.
u had no idea how long it took.
u just did what u were told to do.
u had no time to think of other stuffs..
it shall remain as an very unforgettable memory of mine.
as i was the second to finish the whole thing, my anxiety and nervousness were soon gone.
i felt great relief.
after that, i watched the others group by group going through the same thing what i had just gone through.
i must say everybody did very well! =)
and jiaying's sight reading was damn good!
felt damn happy for her.

then it was night games.
the story went, there was a dance competition going on in school.
then an excellent ballet dancer called diana (jingwen) was murdered.
there were some suspects namely eleanor, leonie, jiaying, andrea, sushuen and evonne.
so the groups were supposed to find out who the murderer was.
i was at the station with eleanor and rachel at that staircase leading to the canteen.
it was very dark except for the few candles we had lit up only at the first flight of stairs.
we also applied some jelly like green substance on the railings.
each group member had to go up the stairs one by one alone and they were banned from using their torchlights.
at first, many got so freaked out that they refused to go up alone.
things got easier when rachel went downstairs and i went upstairs instead.
then one by one, they climbed up alone.
eleanor would made some eerie sounds and tried to on and off the lights.
then when they were approaching, we would throw down a ballet shoe at them.
usually if we threw at the right time, most of them would scream.
haha such a pleasure to hear them scream. XD
some of the sec ones even cried.
there were also many other creepy stations.
there was one at the cybercafe, the music room, the pe room toilet, the big mirror at the stairs near the choir room, the flag pole etc.
it was pretty scary la.
then it was super.
ate roti prata.
then we washed up, preparing to sleep.
then elaine, cheryl, leonie and me planned to stay up until four together to chat like last year lidat.
haha but leonie already fell alsleep while listening to her ipod. XD
so me, elaine and cheryl went out of the mep room and sat somewhere to talk.
but i felt so tired and sleepy.
so we only managed to talk until three then we went back to sleep.
and wah the aircon was SUPER COLD LA.
i got awakened halfway due to the cold and i kept shivering.
tried my best to go back to sleep.
then i felt someone woke me up to ask whether i was awake.
i opened my eyes and i thought i saw it was cheryl.
i felt weird at first cos i was thinking why was she behind me when she was supposed to be sleeping beside me.
then i just shook my head and fell asleep again.
we woke up at around 7 plus.
then i got to know that it was actually enid who woke me up!
then why when i opened my eyes, what i saw was cheryl?!
so scary!

we ate cereals with milk for breakfast.
i tried eating my cereals with chocolate milk.
it was delicious!
i even tried drinking a little bit of milk mixed with cheryl's orange juice. XP
and i ended up having weird feeling in my stomach throughout the whole day.
then it was movie time!
we watched drumline.
but leonie, cheryl and i didn't watch the movie with them although we heard it was nice.
we stayed inside another room playing pokercards.
played stress with cheryl while leonie was filling up her noms forms.
it had been a tradition to play stress during camp i would say for the three of us.
so the feeling was great.

then it was band prac after lunch.
the sec threes had to go up one by one and conduct at least one page of any pieces of our choice.
i anyhow chose a piece i had found inside dong ran's file.
i conducted sousa.
since it only took few mins, i didn't care that much.
like what elaine said, "we had already gone through something so much bigger like noms. this is nothing to us man!"
woo! then we had section bonding.
then it was debrief and home sweet home!
oh man!
this band camp had left a very deep impression in me.
especially for noms.
i don't think i will ever forget those times we had shared during the two days.
NEVER.

04 June
balloon hat festival!
report to school at 11.30am to practise the dance steps once through.
then board the bus to sentosa!
when we reached there, we sat on the floor and started making balloon hats.
i think the situation at that time was quite chaotic.
cos it was going to be our turn to perform soon but we haven't finish making the hats yet.
i was helping leonie and cheryl make their hats.
so when people were already started making their way to the platform, i myself ended up with only the hat without the stem and and the leaf on top.
then i frantically anyhow found some balloons and got yiling and chaylene to help me make.
everything was just in a rush.
we were the last band to perform.
we hurry settled ourselves down and ms sia just started conducting when we weren't really ready yet.
big fun in the sun, feliz navidad, lion king and grease..
we played horribly i guess.
people's hats were bursting while we were playing.
after that, we were suddenly told to burst our own balloons or give them to the children there.
cos we were not supposed to make our balloons now.
-.-'' abit the i made until so xing ku la.
then we made our way to the tent.
ate chicken wing with rice which they provided us.
then all the bands started making their balloon hats.
so we made and made once again.
we got ready and the parade started.
we played and danced and cheered our way to the beach.
we went through the whole procedure like what we did during the rehearsal on wed.
but this time, we really screamed our lungs out.
it was really magnificant sight to see dozens of balloons flying into the sky.
really really nice. =)
at the end of the thing, they started announcing the winning schools for the best balloon hats etc.
like eh? i didn't even know it was a competition in the first place la.
then we, being all so tired, left the place at dusk.

today
tmr i will be going for band camp!
damn nervous!
i was talking to cheryl on the phone just now.
we talked about what's going to happen tmr.
both of us are already scared for noms already.
can't imagine ourselves doing drills, giving commands, got questioned by the seniors and even sight reading in front of the entire band!
how scary! XS
wish myself luck, hope i won't embarrass myself in front of the band again.
but cut aside the noms part, this year june camp will be damn fun!

argh!
today was a very bad day for me.
i woke up late and i was still at home when it was already 12.50pm and band was about to start at 1.30pm.
at first i felt like ponning.
but i remembered i had to pass stacey and zoe their jubliante tickets by today.
so haiya no choice.
luckily i got my father to fetch me or else i would be damn late.
then the moment when i reached the band room, yizhen came to me and asked whether i could beranto the band today.
i got shocked and i didn't say anything.
how i wished i could say i don't want to beranto them at all.
u know how well i didn't know my commands AT ALL?!
that's why when i first knew i was going to beranto, i was already 100% sure that i would malu myself.
indeed i wasn't wrong.
luckily elaine and cheryl fell in in front of me.
i kept whispering to them, "what's the next command?"
oh man! it was so embarrassing!
i made lots of mistakes.
not as if i cared so much for that post la.
it's just i can't stand that embarrassment in front of the whole band.
grrr....
it's all stacey's fault.
if not for her, i wouldn't have decided not to pon band in the end.
then yizhen wouldn't have wanted me to beranto.
then i wouldn't have embarrassed myself.
HAHA XD
i actually blamed all these on stacey.
haiz actually i'm just good for nothing.
i just can't do things right.
i'm such a weak person.
i know people who already know me since primary school may be thinking why am i so different now?
haiz the fact is i don't know myself either.
i'm no longer the celeste who i used to be.
=/
finally i can enjoy myself at home the whole day tmr.
no need to go to school!
yay!
and i had decided not to go for elaine's emerge.
so saturday is now free for me too!
ahh i can continue to watch pride or watch some dvds or listen to s.h.e songs or even at least try to complete another piece of my homework.
yupp.
